Nord, Judith "Judy" Carol 68, died Wednesday, April 23, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. Judy was born on June 23, 1945, in Minneapolis to George and Signe (nee Overby) Nord. She was the second child of two. She attended school in the Bloomington, Minnesota school system, and graduated from Bloomington High School in 1963. She started her college education at the University of Minnesota before finishing her undergraduate studies at St. Cloud State University. She went on to earn her Masters of Library Science at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She worked on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh her entire career in library science, retiring in 2005. In 2007, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and successfully fought the disease for seven years before succumbing. Judy is survived by sister Karen (David) Waldorf, two nephews John and Joel Murtinger, and her long-time friend and roommate, Roberta Stuemke. She is also survived by several nephews, great-nephews and cousins, a strong circle of friends who are grateful her suffering has ended, and cat Gypsy. She was preceded in death by her parents, grand parents, aunts and uncles. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society are suggested.
