Rita K. Gruber

Gruber, Rita K. age 94 of Minneapolis, passed away peacefully on the evening of April 21. Native of South Minneapolis. Graduate of the Academy of Holy Angels. Preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Katherine McLaughlin, son Ned and husband Howard. Survived by her children, daughters Lynn R. Gruber, Lisa M. Rye and husband Greg, Gina A. Goggans and husband John; grandson Michael Rye; sister Jeanne M. Barron and other loving relatives and friends. Before marrying husband Howard in 1946, Rita worked at Dayton's Department store in Mpls, as a model; at Honeywell during WWII; and after raising four children became a realtor with Calhoun Realty, Mpls. and later Robert Scott Realty in Hamel. Rita was devoted to her family, to God, and His Church. She was everyone's prayer warrior. She was accomplished in everything she did--cooking, baking, gardening, painting, real estate. Rita was a woman of great beauty-outward and inward, a teacher, a giver, a supporter and a person of tremendous integrity. But most importantly, she was in incredible mother. Rita's family heartfully thanks the professional and caring team at Cornerstone Assisted Living in Plymouth and Rita's hospice team from North Memorial Hospice.
