Curtner, Elizabeth "Betty" Age 96, of Minneapolis, MN, formerly of Lafayette, IN. Elizabeth (Betty) passed away after a brief illness on April 16, 2014. Preceded in death by her father, Alta C. Hetrick; mother, Mable Q. Hetrick; her sister, Mona R. Glenn; and her husband, David L. Curtner. Betty was born in Mulberry, IN and moved to Lafayette, IN as a small child. Betty graduated from Jefferson High School in Lafayette, IN in 1936. Betty's three sons were born in Lafayette. Subsequently she and her family moved to Saint Paul, MN in 1950. She was active in the League of Women Voters in Roseville, MN. She mastered the art of china painting, winning competitions at the Minnesota State Fair for her works. She also was an accomplished pianist and long-time supportive member at Grace United Methodist Church in Northeast Minneapolis. Betty was also known for her traditional wedding cake decorating artistry. She was an accomplished pool player and astonished many opponents with her prowess, especially at 'bottle pool'; much to the admiration of her sons. Betty is survived by her brother, David L. Hetrick; her sister, Phyllis I. Wolf; and her three sons, Keith, Lynn, David (Roger); five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 7 PM Tuesday, 5/6 with visitation 1 hr. prior at Northeast United Methodist Church, 2510 Cleveland St NE, Minneapolis. Private interment Sunset Cemetery.
