Schelske, Mary Jean Alexandra Feig Died peacefully just before dawn Sunday of acute kidney failure. Jean was born and raised in South Minneapolis, the second eldest & only daughter of 8 children. She was a Washburn Miller graduate and following high school was trained by Northwest Airlines as a meteorologist. Married to an often-relocated mining engineer she lived in numerous Iron Range & Canadian mining towns. In each community she lead deeply appreciated efforts to improve sport and recreational opportunities for youth. She raised 3 active sons and immediately embraced their wives as daughters. Preceded in death by Jim Schelske, her husband of 55 years, her beloved son Mark, parents Helen and Ted Feig, brothers Conrad, Ted, Gilbert and Phillip. Survived by sons Bruce (Sharyn) Schelske, Scott [Joan] Schelske, daughter-in-law Janis Johnson, brothers Richard, Chuck (Lynda) and Doug (Bonnie) Feig, grandchildren Janna (Ryan) Hall, Derrick (Elle Mills) and Grant Schelske, great grandchildren Libby and Lucy Hall, special neighbors Barbara Johnson and Eloise Hager, more than 20 nieces and nephews, generations of cousins and a multitude of sons and daughters of the heart to whom Jean was a deputy mom or aunt. A loving, strong, compassionate peacemaker who will be dearly missed. Service Friday, May 27th, 9:30 AM, Family Gravesite Service, Sunset Cemetery.
