Hunke, Maurice age 77, passed away on May 21, 2016. He was preceded in death by his brothers Robert and Howard. He is survived by his wife, Diana; two daughters, Linda Richard and Carolyn Haneberg; two grandchildren, Kai and Malin Haneberg; and siblings Marianne Schaaf, Carlton Hunke, and Vivian Ficek. Maurice was born on February 20, 1939 in Taylor, North Dakota. He graduated from Dickinson State University and then the University of North Dakota with a Juris Doctorate. He practiced law in Dickinson, North Dakota until being appointed by the governor of North Dakota to the Southwest Judicial District Judgeship. Upon retiring, he and Diana "moved south to Minnesota," where they took advantage of a multitude of cultural and scenic activities. Maurice especially enjoyed duplicate bridge, the Minnesota Orchestra, and sports and current events. The Minnesota Twins won the last game he was able to watch. Private family services will be held. Donations may be made in his memory to Planned Parenthood or the Minnesota Orchestra.
