Patricia Ann 'Pat' (nee Ransier) Lindgren

Lindgren, Patricia Ann (nee Ransier) "Pat" Of Scottsdale, AZ, formerly of the Twin Cities, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2016, after perse-vering gracefully through a lengthy decline due to Alzheimer's. She was 83 years old and is survived by Derbin Kenneth (Ken) Lindgren, her husband of 60 years; her daughter, Carol Mathie of Edina, MN; her sons and their wives, Christian and Kim Lindgren of Minneapolis and Charles and Colleen Lindgren of Petaluma, CA; a granddaughter and six grandsons. Pat was the only child of Rolla and Irene Ransier and was born and raised in St. Paul. She attended Horace Mann grade school and graduated from St. Paul Central High School. She kept many close friends from her school years throughout her lifetime. Pat was an accomplished figure skater and performed in the St. Paul Pop Concerts. Pat attended the University of Minnesota where she was a member and president of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. In 1953 she was the Princess of the West Wind, the runner-up to the St. Paul Winter Carnival Queen. After graduation, with a degree in secondary education, she toured with Shipstead and Johnson's Ice Follies for 2 seasons. Pat married Ken Lindgren and joined him in Rapid City, SD where he was serving in the Air Force, and she taught in the Rapid City school system. Upon returning to the Twin Cities, she taught several years at Southview Junior High in Edina. Pat and Ken raised their family in Interlachen Park in Hopkins. She was active in many community activities and was a member of the Minneapolis Junior League. Always active athletically, she enjoyed skiing, tennis and golf and was a member of Interlachen Country Club. Before moving to Scottsdale, she enjoyed singing and dancing for 15 years as a member of the LeagueAires. Memorial services will be announced later. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the LeagueAires, the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, or the donor's personal choice.
