Zecca, Amy "Lorraine" (Olson) Age 90, of Mpls., passed away April 23, 2016. Lorraine wrote her own obituary: I'm sparing you the sit through service so bear with me for this long obit. Born & raised in Mpls. Attended good old South High class of June '43. Except for 4 years in New Jersey when I was first married, my life was spent here in MN. I treasure memories of my husband's NJ family and friends that became my own. Besides my life as a sister, wife and mother, the bulk of my free time was spent volunteering. Over the years I made great friends through various charities. I always said yes to a worthy cause when I thought it was something I could do. Never thought I'd live to be 90! But, I was in dance club well into my 80's and until recent months was enjoying Jim Beam Bottle Club meetings. I'll be resting at Fort Snelling, so memorials are preferred to Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel Foundation. I'm proud of relatives who served our country in the Revolutionary War, Civil War, WWI, WWII and Korea, including my husband, a veteran of WWII. I was fortunate to have so many dear friends: Jean Copeland Takvam, my friend for 86+ years; Bernice Jorgensen, 70 years a friend and mother of my God Children Gail Dorsey, Lane Jorgensen, Lisa Dongoske, and Jill Sicheneder; Alfredo Castro, our "2nd son." June & Burt Brevik, Wayve Becher, Joan (Topsy) Hanson, Doris Dowling, Avis Swenson MAAS, Diane Schneider, Judy & Jerry Lawson (CCR), all my Jim Beam friends, Phyllis & Bill Dunstone, Darla & Dawnelle, and so many more. And, wonderful neighbors: Barb MacDonald (Parry), Pete Johansen, Barb Radditz, Dorothy Dahle, Pat & Megan & Kids, Debbie Nelson, Bruce Dickenson, Kathy & Mike Hayes, Dick Mars. Now, wasn't this better than sitting through a long, depressing service? Now for the traditional bits: Preceded in death by parents Robert and Alta (Allen) Olson; siblings Doris Gliem, Kenneth Olson and Stanley Olson; nephews Jeffrey Olson, Craig Olson, Randy Olson and Gary Gleim. Survived by husband of 65 years Alphonse E. Zecca; son Alan (Julia), grandchildren Cristina and Michael; daughter Lynn (James); brother Robert E. Olson (Doris); sister Donna J. Nelson; sister-in-law Margaret Olson; nephews Scott Olson, Tom Nelson, Wes Nelson, James Nelson, David Nelson, Peter Olson; nieces Barbara Olson-Peterson, Leanne Brown; Nancy Fix.
