Gilroy, James P. Age 67, of Mpls., born in Bettendorf, IA, passed away April 19, 2016. Preceded in death by his father, John, and sister Maggie. Jim was a valued and dedicated member of Xcel Energy's NSPM Regulatory department for almost 38 years. He was enthusiastic about emerging energy issues and loved teaching others. Jim gave back. He volunteered many hours for United Way, served on the Board for Summit Academy, Harriet Tubman Center, Kenwood Isles Area Association, YouthCARE, Midwest Minority Supplier Development Council, and others. Jim was a true Renaissance man, passionate about people, world cultures, science, math, music, art, languages, etc. A life-long learner, he was also a selfless, kind, thoughtful, gentle man who put others first and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Survived by his adoring wife, Debra; mother, Dorothy; brother, Jack; sister, Mary; nephew, Brian Farmer.
