L. Robert Wolf

Wolf, L. Robert age 92, of Minnetonka, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 11, 2016. Robert led a full and wonderful life. He was a traffic manager for the Soo Line Railroad, working there for 41 years, and was president of the St Paul Transportation Club. After retirement from the Soo, he went to work for Werness Brothers mortuaries, which later became part of Washburn-McReavy, for 26 years. Robert was also organist and choir director at several Twin City churches for 65 years, including 45 years at Central Presbyterian Church in St Paul. He was dean of the American Guild of Organists from 1958-1960 and was a member of Twin City Church Musicians. Dad humorously totaled the time of these and other endeavors and found he had lived 179 years! Robert is survived by his loving family: his wife of 59 years, Marlyss Faith (Stein); son, Timothy, his wife, Janie, and their children, Michael and Bobby;daughter Marie, her husband, Duane Desrosier, and their children, Laurel, Peter and Harrison; and daughter, Annalee, her husband, Terry Gips, and their children, Gloriana, Adam, Noah and Aaron. Visitation will be Monday, February 15 from 5-7 pm at Washburn-McReavy Werness Chapel, 2300 W. Old Shakopee Rd. in Bloomington. A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, February 16 at 11 am, with viewing 1 hour prior, at Jehovah Lutheran Church, 1566 Thomas Ave. W. in St Paul.
