Daryl Dean Follett Daryl Dean Follett

Follett, Daryl Dean Age 81, of Mpls., passed away to the arms of Jesus on February 12, 2016 due to complications of dementia. He was much loved by all who knew him. He was born in Storm Lake, Iowa on May 6th, 1934. He was preceded in death by parents William and Mable Follett, brother Robert Follett (wife Joanne) and sister Marjorie Follett. Survived by loving wife of 54 years, Marilyn; son, Michael Dean Follett (Fiona); daughters, Linda Bernick (Todd) and Tami Johnson (Jerry); grandchildren, Max, Morgan and Lauren; sisters, Jean Bush and Rosemary Follett; and many other family and friends. Daryl grew up in SW Minnesota (Kinbrae) where he and Marilyn so enjoyed spending time in the summer. He proudly served in the United States Army, followed by working at Black and Decker in Bloomington, Minnesota as an electric tool repairman for 41 years. He had a very creative mind and was happiest when he could be creating something out of metal or wood and he kept busy blowing snow and mowing lawns and doing odd jobs for neighbors till the day he had his first stroke. He had a deep love for his Savior, Jesus Christ and wanted to share it with everyone he knew. His deafness most of his life did not hinder him from enjoying a productive and happy life. He lost his vision in both eyes due to 2 strokes the last 3 years of his life which made life very challenging for him but he never lost his love and concern for others. His beautiful smile and love for others will never be forgotten and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Monday, February 15th at Crowne Pointe Church, 7121 Bloomington Avenue South in Richfield, MN (phone 612-869-2500) and one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday February 16th at 10:30 am at Crowne Pointe Church.
