Tonnell, Karl W. age 94 of Mesa, AZ, formerly of St. Cloud, NE Mpls, and St. Anthony Village. Karl was born April 5, 1921 in St. Cloud, MN. Passed away on November 27 in Phoenix, AZ surrounded by family. He was a WWII Army Veteran, and married Geraldine Hortsch on July 21, 1943 in Austin, TX. Karl was an entomologist, retired from the State of MN. He was known for his sense of humor and love of investing. An enthusiastic and respected investor, at one point he even had his own desk at AG Edwards. Karl and Geraldine spent many enjoyable years with family and friends during the summer at Pearl Lake in Kimball, MN, and Mesa, AZ in the winter. Preceded in death by parents; sister Mirth; brothers Edwin, Herbert, Wilfred, Harland, and Richard. Survived by wife of 72 years, Geraldine; children: Joselyn, Don, Julie, Rhonda, and Joe; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, relatives and friends. Funeral service, Thursday 6 pm with viewing starting at 4 pm, at Billlman-Hunt Funeral Chapel, 2701 Central Ave NE, Mpls. Burial Friday, Assumption Cemetery, St Cloud.
