Winzig, Judy Burgett Age 68 of Minneapolis lost her two-year battle with cancer early on the morning of Nov. 25, 2015. Loved to cook, sew, read, and travel. Preceded in death by father Floyd Burgett and first mother Helen. Sorely missed by mother Charlotte Burgett; brother and sister-in-law Jack (Bette) Burgett; husband of 41 years Jerry; sons Peter and Thomas; daughter and son-in-law Betsy (Ryan) VanThorre; grandson Henri; brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Judy served as a lay associate before being ordained an ELCA Lutheran pastor in 1985. Served as a pastor at Bethany Lutheran for three years and neighborhood congregation Epiphany Lutheran for 18 years; and as an interim pastor at El Milagro Lutheran, Zion Lutheran, Salem Lutheran, and Bread of Life Lutheran. Active in Minneapolis Area Synod council and companion tables. Funeral service at 11 am, Sat., Dec. 5, 2015 at Lake Nokomis Lutheran Church, 5011 31st Ave. So. Mpls., followed by light luncheon, with visitation beginning at 9 am. Private interment, Lakewood Cemetery.
