Poulsen, Bonnie Larson 1926-2015 Bonnie was born in Braham, Minnesota to Samuel and Laura Larson. She graduated from Anoka High School in 1944 where she won the Bausch and Lomb Science Award. Her group of girlfriends from her class have continued to communicate during their lifetimes. She spent two years at the University of Southern California where she was in the founding chapter of Alpha Phi sorority. She transferred to the University of Minnesota Law School and graduated in the class of 1949 with a Bachelor of Science in Law. She joined the North Central home office of the Prudential Insurance Company from which she retired after a career as a Disability Claims Officer. Early in her Prudential career, in 1956, she met and married Bruce Poulsen, another Prudential employee. Bonnie and Bruce had a common interest in planning and constructing residences, which brought them to South Minneapolis, North Oaks and Minnetonka, all in the Twin Cities areas of Minnesota, and for retirement, Bayfield, Wisconsin. Another strong common interest was world travel, which advances in jet aircraft made so available. They traveled to all of the seven continents with a number of trips to Europe, Africa, Russia, India, Southeast Asia, China, the Amazon and the North Pacific Islands. They chose Washington for their final retirement home living for ten years in Anacortes and finally, senior residences in Seattle. In Bonnie's family, stemming from her grandmother who came from Sweden and whose maiden name was Hammarstrand, it was stated that the Hammarstrand women were strong willed, intelligent, hardworking and devoted. Bonnie upheld that tradition. Her remaining family are three nieces, Lani Ford, Karen Achor and Delores Kacher and two nephews, Arthur Achor and Richard Poulsen. Her husband expresses great appreciation for her care from physicians and staff at Swedish Hospital and the support from staff and residents at Skyline at First Hill senior residence and its Terraces nursing and assisted living home. There will be no funeral service. Any memorials should be donated to the Medic One Foundation of Seattle, the finest EMT organization in the country. Donations can be mailed to Medic One Foundation, MS 359747, 325 Ninth Avenue, Seattle, WA 98104. "We shared Bonnie's life and now, if blessed we be, we shall share eternity."
