Landkamer, Lloyd June 5, 1955 - September 25, 2015 Age 60, died Friday, September 25, at his home, in Hamel, Minnesota. His death was the result of a valiant battle with colon cancer. Lloyd and his partner, William (Bill) Solyntjes operated Brandywine Farm in Hamel, MN. Lloyd was an icon in the dressage community, both nationally and internationally. Born in Lawrence, Kansas, he was the son of Dale J. and Lorna Nolte Landkamer, both now deceased. Lloyd received college degrees in Animal Husbandry, Computer Science and Economics and worked in the computer science field, before he realized his true calling with horses. In addition to his love of horses and dogs, he was an avid reader, cook and gardener. He is best known as manager of the dressage and para-dressage competitions at the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Lexington, KY. He was recently named to the stewarding team for the upcoming 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. In addition, Lloyd was the consummate volunteer. Lloyd considered his friends and colleagues in dressage as his "family". He was a leader in the sport and an inspiration to all. He is survived by his life partner of 32 years, Bill Solyntjes. The two were married when it became legal in Minnesota. He is also survived by two younger brothers and a sister. Funeral arrangements are private.
