Beattie, James "Big Jim" age 77, of St. Paul, MN passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Nov. 13, 2019. Preceded in death by parents, Charles and Angelle; brothers, Charles and David; nephew, Shane; and granddaughter, Juliette. Survived by wife, Peggy; children, Jim Jr., Jeffrey, Michael (Kathy), Alyssa (Anthena), Vanessa, Mitchell (Sarah), and Kelly (Robert); grandchildren, Sydney, Avery, Diego, Elise, Marae, J.J., and Claire. Jim was bigger than life. At 6 ft 10 inches he was striking, being an ex heavyweight prize fighter made him more so. To those blessed to know him, he was gentle, affectionate, sensitive and life affirming. And to strangers he was generous, patient, and engaging. He was special and made everyone feel the same, he shared his magic. He believed to his core that we are spiritual beings having a human experience.
