Blackburn, Matthew C. "Matt" Matthew C. Blackburn "Matt" of Plymouth, Minnesota died August 19 at North Memorial Hospital of complications from organ failure. He was 36. Matt was born on October 5, 1982 in St. Louis Park to Suzanne and Paul Blackburn. He graduated from Mounds Park Academy in 2001 where he attained his goal of Basketball 1st Team All Conference. He earned his B.A. in Business from Augsburg College, Minneapolis in 2015. Matt's business focus and experience was in the mortgage and insurance industries. Matt participated physically in many sports - basketball, golfing, bowling, fishing, snowboarding to name a few. He was also an avid sports fan, particularly for the Iowa Hawkeyes, professional golf and all the Minneapolis professional teams. His love and talent for music - guitar, singing, piano - whether he was performing as a solo or in a group or listening and creating playlists will be remembered by many for the joy that he shared with others. Matt's love for his Aussies was displayed with his beloved Bowser, Trevor and Junior. Matt is survived by his mother, Suzanne Blackburn & her husband, Paul Gerlach; brother, Brett; and father, Paul Blackburn; aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents. Minneapolis. A luncheon will follow the service at Lakewood Cemetery's Garden Mausoleum.
