George, William C. "Bill" born January 25, 1939, passed away peacefully with his family beside him on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019, after a battle with several health issues. He donated his body to the University of Minnesota. He will then be cremated, in accordance with his wishes. He was preceded in death by his parents, father Francis George; mother Mary Redfern; stepfather Claude Redfern. He is the beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother of; son and daughter-in-law, Bret and Twyla George; daughter and son-in-law Julie and John Lilley; granddaughter Brittany Brown and Jake; granddaughter Kendra George and Taylor Vojtech; granddaughter Nika Calvin and Garth; granddaughter Tegan Swedzinski and Jesse; great-grandchildren Kaden George, Tucker Makowsky, Stella Brown, Gage Rodewald, Kingsley and Oakley Swedzinski, Caiden and Lexi Calvin; and his sister Mary Cazalas; sister Lori Naydock. Bill grew up in Kansas City, MO, and was an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts. After high school he attended college at Christian Brothers University in Memphis TN. Bill married Alyce in 1962 at St. Joseph's Church in Waterloo and moved to Richmond, Indiana. They adopted Bret in 1965 and moved to the Hopkins-Minnetonka area in 1967 where Bill worked as an engineer with Honeywell/ATK for more than 20 years. They adopted Julie in 1969. After raising Bret and Julie, Bill enjoyed traveling with Alyce, to Las Vegas and Branson, Missouri. Bill and Alyce would have an annual 4th of July BBQ for family and friends. Bill loved to play golf and drive his Corvette! For the last two years, he joined a corvette club and went on several road trips. A celebration of Bill's life will be held at 10 a.m., with visitation at 9:00 a.m., on Friday, Aug. 30, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1300 Main St., Hopkins, followed by a luncheon in their social hall.
