Derksen, Michael D. Age 60 of Bloomington. Born May 22 passed away suddenly Feb 13, 2019. Preceded in death by grandparents, Nellie and Elmer Hedegaard and Esther & Peter Derksen; uncles, Gene, Mel, DeLyle and Alvin & aunts, Donna, Bev and Arlene. Survived by his loving parents, Dennis and Mary Ann; brother, Steven and sister, Kimberly; aunts, Glenis and Vi, many dear cousins & friends and his parrot, CoCo. He was a long-time employee of Wells Fargo in Mpls. Michael had diabetes from the age of 7 to 52, at which point his life was transformed when he was blessed to receive a pancreas/kidney transplant. Michael was thoughtful, generous and kind-hearted. He enjoyed nature's beauty. His knowledge of plants and trees was enormous. It was like having our own personal horticulture www. He loved to laugh and enjoyed being with family & friends. Rest in peace Mike-we love you & will miss you every day. Memorial service 1:30, Sunday, Feb 24th at Berea Lutheran Church, 7538 Emerson Ave S, Richfield, MN, with visitation 1 hr prior. Interment will be at West Denmark Cemetery, Luck WI at a later date.
