Schauer, Herbert Edwin Age 95. Herb was born Oct. 19, 1922 in St. Paul, MN. He is survived by his four children: Cindy (Rod) Nelson, Richard, Susan (Roger) Lanum, Patti (Chad) Chadwell. Herb also enjoyed his eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren on many happy occasions. Herb served in WWII aboard the submarine USS Scab bardfish (SS 397) performing four tours in the Pacific theatre. Herb worked as a mechanic for Northwest Airlines retiring after 36 years. He shared a love of aircraft with friends of the Commemorative Air Force in South St. Paul. Herb was a member of the NorthStar Chorus and loved to sing and perform barbershop. Herb was a blessing to family, friends and many people and he helped all he could with his big heart. He lived his life with faith and walked with the Lord. Visitation will be Monday 9/24/18 from 5 - 8 pm at O'Halloran and Murphy, 575 South Snelling Ave. St. Paul, MN. A Memorial Service, will be held Tuesday 9/26/18 at 11 am at St. Peter's Lutheran Church 530 So. Victoria St. St. Paul, MN with visitation one hour before the service.
