Knoll, John Joseph Age 74 of Edina passed Aug 28, 2018 at Mpls Heart Institute following complications from LVAD replacement surgery. He was laid to rest Sept 4 at Resurrection Cemetery. Celebration of Life Mass Sept 20 at Basilica of St Mary 12noon. John was a politico, philosopher, foodie, and sports lover. He ran several political campaigns in his younger decades and could engage anyone from any political persuasion in lively discourse. He biked to work through all seasons long before it was a "thing" and was a strong supporter of the underdog. He loved toast and was known for turning sourdough into the best French toast. He retired from CP Railway in 2004 after a long career there and at predecessor Soo Line. John was a proud union member and a local chair for more than a decade. John is survived by his wife, Concy Rajkumar; children, Roshini Rajku-mar (James Fulton) and Roshan Rajkumar (Jennifer); his sisters, Mary Knoll, Elizabeth Kane, Helen Fitzgerald (David); brother, Franklin Knoll (Margot); in-laws, Charles Jey, George Pillai (Ranee), Stella Rajalingam (Raja), Antonette Sinnarajah (Roger); 22 nieces and nephews. John is preceded in death by his father, Franklin Oker Knoll and mother, Agnes Knoll; brothers-in-law, Dr. Bill Kane, John Hamel; and sister-in-law, Grace Jey.
