Gregory S. Gruman

Gruman, Gregory S. 69 of Eau Claire, WI, passed away after a short battle with cancer on Monday, July 9, 2018, at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI. Gregory was born in Minneapolis, MN on October 3, 1948 to Robert and Beverly (Taylor) Gruman. He graduated from St. Olaf College where he studied English and sang in the choir, which he continued to do throughout his life. Greg was married to Candace (Ostberg) Gruman for 37 years before they divorced. Later in life he met Kay Lee who has been his partner since. Greg was a fourth generation owner of Winkley Orthotics & Prosthetics. He was a skilled prosthetist, loving grandfather, and active church member. Greg enjoyed many things in life, especially singing, music, reading, history and taking family trips to Hawaii. He is survived by his partner; Kay Lee, children; Alex (Sally) Gruman, Amalia (Anthony) Gruman Laird, mother; Beverly Gruman, siblings; Bill (Heidi) Gruman, Nancy (Bob) Glasenapp, grandchildren; Gwen, Elsa, and Lincoln Gruman, Freya Laird, dogs; Toby and Daisy, as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Greg is preceded in death by his father Robert Gruman. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family. The Memorial Service will be held at Lake Street United Methodist Church, 337 Lake St., Eau Claire, WI 54703, Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 1:30 PM. Jerry Morris of Lake Street Methodist Church will be officiating. Visitation will start an hour before the service at the church. A Celebration of Life and burial will be held in Minnesota at a later date. Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Altoona is assisting the family.Condolences: cremationsociety-wi.com
