Wiper, John Norlin Our dearly loved John, age 81, of Minneapolis, passed away June 9, 2018. Growing up, John worked the land of the family farm in Bowbells, North Dakota, with duty bound honor and loyalty to his family. John graduated from Shattuck School in Faribault, MN. He graduated from North Dakota State University (Fargo, ND) with a degree in Engineering. He engineered the Boeing/NASA rockets because he had boyhood dreams and a sense of pioneering adventurism. He also managed resources for Moulton Niguel Water District in California, but John's most precious resources of all were his relationships with family and friends. John would strike up a conversation with anyone and leave them feeling they were someone...someone very important. With direct eye contact and a firm hand shake, most often clasped with his free hand, you always knew the conversation was meaningful. His goodbyes always affirmed he was already looking forward to your next visit. As Louis L'Amour, another great North Dakotan, said in the Last of the Breed, "When I die, remember that what you knew of me is with you always. What is buried is only the shell of what was. Do not regret the shell, but remember the man. Remember the father." John is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Beverly; daughters Chris (Bowe) and Tamara; step daughters Shauna (Patrick), Kim, and Jennifer (Oscar); step sons Tres (Jennifer), Dario (Jeanne), Robert (Cote) and Greg; grandchildren Michael, Nathan, Ben, Ani, Amanda, Ashley, Madison, Madeline, Zach, Sam, Ellie, Andrew, Aiden, Ali, Max, Jaxson, Amelia, Josie and Brooke; his favorite brother, Ray (Joyce); and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Raymond and Violet Wiper; brother, Clyde Wiper; and niece Mary Wiper. Celebration of Life ceremony and lunch to follow Friday, June 15 at 11:00 a.m. at Lafayette Club, 2800 Northview Road, Minnetonka Beach (952-471-8495). In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to JDRF, please.
