Reed Elmer Neddermeyer

Neddermeyer, Reed Elmer Formerly of Long Lake, Minnesota, went to be with the Lord on March 12, 2018 at age 87. He is survived by his adoring wife Dorothy Gene (Westbrook) Neddermeyer, and nine of his eleven children and step-children. He has reunited in Heaven with his son Terry Neddermeyer and step-daughter Susan Dannhaus, as well as his two brothers Francis and Robert Neddermeyer, his sister Marie Gorman and his parents, Ernest and Blanche (Maurer) Neddermeyer. Reed grew up in Long Lake, Minnesota during The Great Depression, working on his family's prosperous farm, and at their automobile service station, Neddermeyer & Sons. Reed graduated from Wayzata High School in Plymouth, Minnesota, and served in the US Airforce. He earned bachelor's degrees in Electrical Engineering and Accounting from the University of Colorado at Boulder and his Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from New York University. Reed enjoyed a long career in the semiconductor industry working for Bell Laboratories, Motorola, Fairchild and others. Reed established SunWest Marketing in Tempe, Arizona in 1983, his own manufacturer's representative business, which he operated until his retirement in 1995. A visitation for Reed will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 11:00am with funeral service to follow at 12:00pm at Heritage Funeral Chapel, 6830 W. Thunderbird Rd, Peoria AZ 85381. Interment will follow at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix AZ 85024, where he will receive Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Reed's name to his preferred charity, The Salvation Army.
