Richard A. Pett

Pett, Richard A. 76, of Edina, MN died Jan. 14, 2018. Born in St. Paul, Dick grew up in Enderlin and Fargo, ND. He graduated from Fargo Central in 1959, earned a BS at Concordia College, Mhd., an MS at UND, and a Ph.D. at Univ. Portland, OR. A clinical psychologist at state hospitals and in private practice, he was also an author, an adjunct prof, and provided educational work-shops for nurses. A Renaissance man, he had wide interests and talents. He played basketball and tennis, loved to travel, hike, camp, bike ride. He built his own sailboats and beds for his children. He loved to work with his hands, whether drawing, woodcarving, gardening, or playing guitar. He was a great listener, storyteller, and cribbage player. Preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Arnold Pett; sister, Sharon. He is survived by wife of 51 years, Judy; daughter, Heather (Michael); son, Justin (Kristin); and three granddaughters, Lexi, Katherine, and Moira.
