Grote, Susan Rose (Engeldinger) Died on January 15, 2018. She passed away peacefully in her home after a brave battle with lung cancer. Susan was born September 23, 1946, in Red Wing, MN, to Walter (Bud) and Beatrice Engeldinger. The family sends special thanks to the University of MN cancer team who gave Sue wonderful care and to the neighbors who supported Sue and Gary through their recent illnesses. Survivors include loving husband Gary Grote (20 years), sister Laurie Engeldinger, step-daughter Darcy Dickson (Bernard), step-son Richard Grote (Patty Nilsen), nephew Christopher Castner, niece Stefanie Binner (Jason), five grandchildren, and many loving extended family members. Preceded in death by her parents, sister Carol (Engeldinger) and brother-in-law Stephen Castner. Celebration of life on Saturday, February 3 from 11:30-2:30 PM at Fong's Restaurant, Prior Lake. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to the American Cancer Society or Sharing and Caring Hands.
