Does your sports fanaticism have room for another big sporting event?
Minneapolis and the Twin Cities were named as a finalist on Thursday to host one of the NCAA Women's Basketball Final Fours in the years 2021 through 2024. Target Center would be the venue.
Minneapolis was one of eight cities on the list, the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee announced, along with Cleveland, Dallas, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Missouri, Nashville and San Antonio.
Finalist cities need to submit officials bids by April 27, and NCAA staff will visits to cities in July and August. The announcement of the host cities for those Final Fours will take place in October.
Target Center was the venue for the 1995 Women's Basketball Final Four.
It would be a great event for the Twin Cities to host — assuming we all make it through the Super Bowl, two Frozen Fours, a swimming and diving championship meet, the Summer X Games, the NCAA Volleyball Final Four, the 2019 men's basketball Final Four ...
