Good evening from the Big House, where the Gophers play Michigan for the Little Brown Jug. The thunderstorms that hit Michigan earlier – especially in East Lansing, where the Penn State-Michigan State game was delayed more than three hours – subsided for a bit. But there has been lightning in the Ann Arbor area, and Michigan officials announced they're delaying the opening of the gates, which was supposed to begin at 5:30 p.m. Eastern. They will wait a minimum of 30 minutes after the last lightning strike before opening the gates.

The Gophers are no stranger to inclement weather this season. Their Oct. 7 game at Purdue was delayed 88 minutes in the fourth quarter because of lightning, and their home game against Michigan State a week later was delayed 34 minutes because of lightning in the area. In addition, the Sept. 9 game at Oregon State and the home game against Illinois also featured rain but were not delayed.
