See more of the story Most of the country will be dry this weekend, but there will be some trouble spots. A cold front pushing through the Great Lakes will spark some showers and thunderstorms in the region. Oppressive heat and humidity will continue across the Southeast.

Farther west, generally dry weather will preside over the Rockies into the Northwest. While the Northwest has warmer weather, the Rockies and Southwest will remain quite cool for this time of the year. A storm system just off the California coast will dampen parts of the state, especially coastal locales.
