You may not have heard of Big Brother magazine, but the defunct skateboarding publication would go on to influence a wave of comedy, most notably MTV's "Jackass" series. The documentary "Dumb: The Story of Big Brother Magazine" may not be highbrow humor, but you'll end up feeling just a bit smarter about the sensibilities of teenage boys.

"The Jim Jefferies Show" is the latest entry in the field of political late-night talk shows, this time with an Australian comedian behind the desk. Best known for the FX series "Legit," Jefferies is at his best when he has a worthy opponent to bark at, so here's hoping the guest list is as sharp as his material.

Cruel to be kind

Gordon Ramsay may be the star chef on Fox TV during the summer, but if I'm ordering up a plate of tough love, I'd rather have it served by Marcus Lemonis, the tieless entrepreneur who is the heart, soul (and bank account) behind "The Profit." In the first of several new episodes, Lemonis uses his firm-but-fair approach to help a family struggling to keep its swimwear line afloat.
