In an unprecedented effort, Hennepin County has moved nearly 400 homeless people to hotel rooms since the pandemic began. The county recently approved another $1 million for this effort, which comes as a coalition of county and nonprofit leaders join forces to prevent the sort of large-scale outbreaks that have devastated homeless shelters in other states.
