SuperAmerica accepts competitors' coupons Until last month, SuperAmerica (www.super america.com) had not accepted competitors' gasoline coupon for years. But if you collect the gas coupon fliers for 5 to 7 cents off a gallon from Holiday and Kwik Trip in the Star Tribune and weekly newspapers, SA stations now accept them. Even better, SA will double the coupon amount on Tuesdays. Most of the 233 SA stations in Minnesota will accept competitors' coupons, but a few franchised locations do not. Why the change? New ownership. Marathon Petroleum sold SA stations to Connecticut-based Northern Tier Energy in December. Most Holiday and Kwik Trip stations also accept competitors' coupons, but they do not match SA's "Terrific Tuesday" deal. You can also sign up to receive coupons via e-mail at www. holidaystationstores.com.

Tent sale at Fun Sisters A decade ago, a few Twin Cities boutiques sold designer-label knockoff purses and fashion accessories, until they got their hands slapped with fines. Now the surviving businesses sell inexpensive accessories inspired by the more expensive labels. Few have done it more successfully than the Fun Sisters, which started in Minneapolis and expanded into St. Paul, Stillwater and three locations in the Brainerd lakes area. Prices are always low but the best time to shop is during the annual tent sale (4253 Nicollet Av. S., Mpls., 612-822-9872, www.thefunsisters.com) held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Save 50 percent or more on overstocked jewelry, purses and shoes from all seasons. The Minneapolis store, which is generally open the second Wednesday through Sunday of the month, will also be open for the sale. All sales are final.

Free hair service at Rocco with donation Rocco Altobelli Salon Spa is offering free select services with a $25 donation to charity during its annual fund drive at the Galleria salon (3510 W. 70th St., Edina, 952-920-5006). Donate $25 or more to the Spare Key charity and get a free hair treatment (conditioning, blow comb and makeup touchup). Appointments can be made now for the event from 6 to 8 p.m. June 3. Donations must be made in cash or check. Future appointments booked at the event will be eligible for additional discounts of 10 to 20 percent off selected treatments. Spare Key provides assistance to Minnesota homeowners with critically ill or seriously injured children by making a mortgage payment on the family's behalf, allowing them to spend time with their child.
