World of Wheels starts next Friday at St. Paul's RiverCentre

The 47th Annual O'Reilly Auto Parts World of Wheels car show rolls into downtown St. Paul's RiverCentre next Friday for a three-day run of chrome, horsepower, rockabilly bands and TV stars. Chip Foose of the Discovery Channel's "Overhaulin'" show will sign autographs Sunday (look for a feature on Foose in this section this Sunday), as will Wolf and Venom of "American Gladiators." Jason Earles of "Hannah Montana" appears Saturday. But the show's biggest stars are the cars, including Foose's P32 Street Fighter, a tribute to WWII fighter planes that was featured on the cover of "Street Rodder," Super Rod's "Hemi Nation" exhibit, KITT from the new NBC series "Knight Rider" as well as the KITT from the original series, and a live version of "Mach 5" from "Speed Racer." There will be more than 300 hot rods, race cars, motorcycles and magazine cover cars, including Ol Skool Rods' traditional rod show. Single-day tickets are $13 ($5 ages 6-12; discount tickets available at participating O'Reilly Auto Parts stores). Show times are 3-10 p.m. Fri., 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. Sat. and 11 – 7 Sun.
