Defenseman Matt Bartkowski (one year, two-way deal): Agreed to a one-year, two-way contract after playing 18 games with the Flames last season. Has recorded 47 points in 253 career games over parts of eight seasons with the Bruins, Canucks and Flames. Played a career-high 80 games in 2015-16 with Vancouver. Shoots left.
Defenseman Greg Pateryn (three years, $6.75 million): Spent last season — his first as a regular in the NHL — with the Stars. Averaged 19 minutes, 37 seconds of ice time in 73 games and blocked 148 shots while dishing out 155 hits. Started his career in Montreal, playing parts of four seasons with the Canadiens. Has 29 points through 167 career games.
Forward J.T. Brown (two years, $1.375 million): The Burnsville native and son of former Vikings running back Ted Brown played at Rosemount High School and Minnesota Duluth before joining the Lightning in 2012. Was with Tampa Bay for parts of six seasons before getting claimed off waivers in January by Anaheim. Totaled seven points in 47 games in 2017-18 and has 20 goals and 64 points in 309 career NHL games.
Center Eric Fehr (one year, $1 million): Has 206 points in 580 games over parts of 13 NHL seasons with the Capitals, Jets, Penguins, Maple Leafs and Sharks. Had three goals and four points in 18 games last season with Toronto and San Jose. Won the 2006 Calder Cup with coach Bruce Boudreau and the 2016 Stanley Cup with the Penguins.
Goaltender Andrew Hammond (one year, two-way deal): Went 9-6-2 with a .904 save percentage and 3.21 goals-against average in 19 AHL games last season. Stopped 31 of 33 shots in the regular season with the Avalanche before backstopping the team in three playoff games. Became the second goalie in NHL history to give up two goals or fewer in his first 12 starts.
Forward Matt Hendricks (one year, $700,000): Blaine native played 60 games with the Jets last season, chipping in five goals and 13 points. A 10-year veteran of 581 career games who's also had stops in Colorado, Washington, Nashville and Edmonton after playing at St. Cloud State. Ranks third among active Minnesota-born skaters in penalty minutes (703) and 11th in games played.
Forward Mike Liambas (two years, two-way deal): Skated mostly in the minors last season, putting up seven points in 40 games with San Diego in the American Hockey League. Also appeared in seven games with the Ducks in 2017-18 before landing with the Wild. Has eight games on his NHL resume. Made his league debut with the Predators on Dec. 3, 2016.
