The Wild continued to reshuffle its front office Wednesday, naming Chris O'Hearn its director of hockey operations.

Last week, the team dismissed director of player personnel Andrew Brunette, assistant general manager Shep Harder and lead hockey researcher Andrew C. Thomas. All three were on expiring contracts.

O'Hearn joins the Wild after spending last season as a professional scout for the Calgary Flames.

Before then, he worked with the Arizona Coyotes for 11 seasons and was an assistant GM for the last three.

His responsibilities included player contract reaserch and negotiations, scheduling, salary arbitration and salary cap management. O'Hearn was also involved with fiscal and strategic planning, evaluating pro and amateur players, compliance with the collective bargaining agreement and administration with the NHL's Central Registry in addition to the day-to-day operations of the hockey department.

In his new role with the Wild, O'Hearn is expected to handle similiar duties related to the salary cap and contracts.
