With Bishop Sankey out for the season after tearing his ACL on Thursday night, the Minnesota Vikings have filled his roster spot before their Saturday afternoon practice.
The Vikings announced they have signed former Jaguars and Bengals running back Bronson Hill to replace Sankey, who was placed on the waived-injured list. Hill, who beat out former Gophers running back David Cobb in a workout, played three games with the Jaguars last year, carrying twice for 11 yards.
He was released by Jacksonville in May after joining the team's practice squad last September. Hill was promoted to the Jaguars' active roster in time for their game against the Vikings last Dec. 11.
His addition to the roster comes as the Vikings continue working Latavius Murray back into their lineup following his rehab from offseason ankle surgery. Jerick McKinnon also didn't play in the team's preseason opener on Thursday night.
