As an elderly bank robber with a twinkle in his eye, Robert Redford plays to all his still-formidable strengths in "The Old Man and the Gun" (⋆⋆½, PG-13) — subtlety, effortless charisma and looks that, though craggier and more weathered, are still irresistible. A gentle, low-key ode to freedom, mischief and staying young, the film lights up whenever Sissy Spacek is on screen, playing a kindhearted rancher whom Redford's character engages in a shy, teasingly endearing flirtation.
