Alfonso Cuarón has now won two Oscars for directing ("Gravity" and "Roma"). But his greatest cinematic achievement remains 2006's "Children of Men," a horror-thriller that's equally chilling as "The Handmaid's Tale," but with mind-blowing tracking shots. If "Roma" melted your heart, "Children" will freeze it.

The new docuseries "Losers" has two elements that Minnesotans can relate to: a soft spot for athletes who came up short, and a focus on curling. One of the episodes centers on the 1985 Canadian Championship in which curler Pat Ryan fell victim to the "Hackner Double," which many believe to be the greatest shot in the sport's history.

Who's that girl?

You may not be familiar with "Marina Abramovic: The Artist Is Present," the 2012 film being spoofed in an artsy-fartsy edition of "Documentary Now!" But you should know the actress starring as the deadly serious performance artist. Or maybe not. It wasn't until the closing credits that I realized the woman playing opposite Fred Armisen was two-time Oscar winner Cate Blanchett.
