Spurs arrive on hot streak

Wolves update: Point guard Tyus Jones is listed as out because of a sprained left ankle he suffered in Tuesday's loss at Philadelphia. The good news is he does not have a high ankle sprain, the Wolves said. He is in an ankle boot as he recovers. There is no timetable for his return. In his past nine games, Jones was averaging 8.8 points and 6.4 assists in 26.2 minutes per game. Robert Covington will miss his eighth consecutive game because of a right knee bone bruise. … Since scoring 38 points in his first two games back from a left ankle injury, Jeff Teague has scored 33 in his past four.

Spurs update: The Spurs arrive having won seven of their past 10 and blew out the Wolves in their last matchup, a 124-98 victory in San Antonio on Dec. 21. … The Spurs lead the league in three-point percentage, converting 40 percent of their attempts from deep. Their bench is shooting 42 percent from three-point range, led by Davis Bertans, who is shooting 48 percent on 4.1 attempts per game. The Spurs' top two players, DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge, combine to take just 1.2 three-pointers per game. DeRozan is averaging 21.7 points per game while Aldridge is averaging 20.5 points and 8.5 rebounds.
