Fans of "Riverdale" will say goodbye to Luke Perry's character this week.

Roberto Aguirre Sacasa, the creator of the hit show, announced on Twitter that Wednesday's episode will mark Perry's final appearance.

"As always, Fred's imparting words of wisdom to Archie. A beautiful, true moment between a father and his son. Wish these scenes could go on forever," Sacasa wrote Sunday.

Perry portrayed Fred Andrews, the father of the show's star Archie Andrews, until his sudden death in March after suffering a massive stroke. He was 52.

In a joint statement at the time, "Riverdale" executive producers, Warner Bros. Television and the CW said: "A beloved member of the Riverdale, Warner Bros. and CW family, Luke was everything you would hope he would be: an incredibly caring, consummate professional with a giant heart, and a true friend to all.

"A father figure and mentor to the show's young cast, Luke was incredibly generous, and he infused the set with love and kindness."
