OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Timberwolves, looking to extend a five-game win streak, will play in Golden State on Wednesday night (9:30 p.m., ESPN and FSN), but won't have to face Kevin Durant.

The Warriors megastar has a left thigh contusion and won't suit up for the defending NBA champions, who are off to an 8-3 start.

News of his absense came at the Warriors' morning shoot at their downtown Oakland training center.

Meanwhile, the Wolves shot across the bay in downtown San Francisco, not far from their hotel.

"It doesn't really change things," Wolves young star Andrew Wiggins said. "They won a championship without him a couple years back. They're still good. We have to have the same mindset, they're just a s good. Durant's not playing, but they have other people who can come in. Obvioulsy, you can't replace Durant, but they have guys who will come in and do their thing."

Wolves coach Tom Thibodeau ticked off a list of Warriors players healthy and ready to play when asked about Durant's absence.

"Obviously, Kevin is a great player, but their depth is what makes them so special," Thibodeau said. "You're still looking at (Steph) Curry, (Klay) Thompson, a Draymond (Green), (Andre) Iguodala, David West, a (Shaun) Livingston. I think the biggest thing probably is, this is a team that's not just an offensive team. It's a great defensive team as well."

The Wolves are 7-3. In case you missed it, here's Kent's advance for tonight's game
