Augustus back but Whalen out

Preview: The Lynx (20-2) and Fever (8-17) are meeting for the first time this season. The Lynx are coming off a 69-54 victory over the Atlanta Dream on Thursday. The strong defensive effort extended Minnesota's winning streak to seven. Indiana lost to Chicago 81-70 at home on Friday. Indiana, in last place in the Eastern Conference, has lost five in a row and 10 of 11. The Lynx have defeated Indiana 12 consecutive times in the regular season.

Players to watch: Lynx G Seimone Augustus is expected to return to the lineup after missing two games for personal reasons. Augustus is averaging 11.5 points per game and shooting 51.6 percent from the field. Lynx G Renee Montgomery tied her season highs for assists (seven) and steals (three) in the win over Atlanta. Forward Candace Dupree, who leads the Fever in scoring (14.0 ppg), scored 18 points Friday after missing one game for personal reasons. Fever G Erica Wheeler, in her third season, is averaging a career-high 10.7 points.

Numbers: Lynx G Lindsay Whalen has missed only 15 of a possible 463 regular-season games in her 14-year career.

Injuries: Whalen is out indefinitely after having surgery Friday to repair a broken bone in her left hand. Fever G Shenise Johnson (knee) is out for the season.
