'Feral Fables: O Pioneer & Family Fremds'
What do Satanic goats and staged mini-dioramas of nature have to do with each other? The only conceivable answer is that they are both the stars of the current exhibition at Rosalux Gallery, featuring work by Terrence Payne and Areca Roe. Payne's paintings touch on questions of how religion can tear families apart. In one work, a pair of spindly-legged goats touch tongues, one donning an "EVIL" necklace and another with "GOOD." Roe's staged dioramas of late-1800s Western landscapes consider the worlds of disaster, which are brought into new light following hurricanes Irma and Maria, and the wildfires sweeping across California.
