Valleyfair's preseason prices take a dive Thrill seekers have until Tuesday to take advantage of Valleyfair's preseason deals. A regular season pass is $80 this year, down from $90 last year (if ordered by Tuesday). But what makes the pass an even better deal is free parking in a special designated area (normally $10 each time), exclusive ride sessions, early waterpark entry and early admission to ValleyScare. Bra-vo for Target In the May issue of Consumer Reports, the magazine compared three bras at three prices: LaPerla Vintage ($127), Victoria's Secret Ipex demi ($45) and Target's Gilligan & O'Malley padded demi ($11). Each was washed three times and worn for a comfort check. Target's bra was found to have better cup molding with a flexible, well-padded underwire, said the 34B testers. It also held up better after washing. Coincidentally, Target has six of its G&O bras on sale this week for $10 and $15.
A nickel for your thoughts Pity the shopper who's new to Haskell's wine sale, not to mention the veteran shopper who's not paying attention. Even though the spring sale is still called the Nickel sale, buyers do not get the first bottle at regular price and second one for a nickel anymore. Prices are now discounted on the first bottle, and subsequent bottles are the same price. The change came about when the Better Business Bureau of Minnesota found that Haskell's regular prices were higher during sales than at nonsale times. That made the claim "buy one at regular price and the second for a nickel" misleading. Haskell's keeps the nickel in the sale by having sale prices end in five, such as the Penfolds Koonunga Hill Shiraz/Cab for $7.95. The sale continues through April 26.
