Fire and law enforcement officials are investigating after a body was found in a burned vehicle parked outside of a home in Goodhue County on Thursday.

First responders from the Kenyon, Minn., police and fire departments and the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call about 6 p.m. Thursday reporting a "structure fire" in the 45000 block of Hwy. 56 in Holden Township.

Firefighters found human remains in the burned vehicle. The home's owner and its residents have been accounted for, according to the Sheriff's Office. The Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Office will perform an autopsy to identify the deceased.

The fire's cause has not been determined and is under investigation by the Minnesota State Fire Marshal's Office and Goodhue County Sheriff's Office.
