Why she won: At the bottom of Kasper's e-mail with the team's season preview is the quote: "Life is an occasion, rise to it." She expects her players to do just that, on or off a court or diamond. Kasper is one of the few coaches in the large school classification who coach two sports (basketball and softball). She guided Eastview's basketball team to its first unbeaten season in winning the Class 4A title. The softball team was ranked in the top 10 all season before falling in the Section 3 championship.
What she said (about coaching basketball and softball): "Usually it works out pretty well. This year we had a month of snow, so we had an easy transition into it. I thought about telling the girls to not try so hard and [jokingly] to maybe not make it to state, but that didn't work out so well."
