William (Will) Edwin Jones IV, 69, of Saint Paul, Minnesota, unexpectedly transitioned 20 September 2023 at home. He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on 21 July 1954 to Arva and William Jones III who preceded him in death. Throughout his life, Will worked heavy equipment and welding construction jobs that took him across the country, along the way earning an associate degree. A crackerjack auto mechanic, he could take a car apart and put it back together with ease; family members consulted him when taking vehicles in for repair. He also loved going to the drag races to listen for the "ping" of the engines as well as watching the funny cars. In addition, Will fished the lakes of Minnesota for pure enjoyment and relaxation. Mother Jones always emphasized 'Family'; Will's legacy is evidence. He loved his children and desired the best for them. Will is survived by his son, William Jones V, wife, Lori; grandchildren, William VI and Lyric (Jones); grandchildren, Jenavae, Jadarae, Jayvhon (Lawson) and great-grandsons; Trey Jr. (Jenavae, Trey Brzycki) and Ka'zias (Jayvhon, Angie Yang); daughter Ruth Franklin and granddaughter Brielle, Meridian, MS; sister Joycelynn and husband Chuck Phillips, Charleston, IL; sister J Hoxi Jones, Houston, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He will be remembered for living life his way, being a man who knew God's word, sharing wisdom and having brilliantly, skilled hands. Memorial service 6pm - 9pm, Friday 29 September 2023, Summit Funeral & Cremation, 6415 Carmen Ave. E., Inver Grove Heights, MN 44076, 651-361-9273.
