Elkin, Max age 103 of Mendota Heights, formerly of St Louis Park, passed away Sept 16, 2023. Preceded in death by wife Dinah, daughter-in-law Lauren. Survived by children Shimon, Brad (Sarah), and Terri (Sylvia), grandchildren Melech, Gittel, Chani, Baila, Moriah, Rececca, many great-grandchildren, sister Rachel Fox, nephew Michael Fox, other relatives and friends. Max enlisted in the US Army during WWII and his service included Omaha Beach and in the second line at the Battle of the Bulge. Upon returning from the war, Max and Dinah started a family. His devotion to his wife and family was his greatest joy. As a partnership, Max and Dinah ran successful construction companies. He volunteered for decades at Adath Jeshurun and was a leader, building an inclusive community. He will be remembered for his love, compassion, and warmth and as a loving and devoted Dad, Zady, and uncle to his family, extended family, and greater community. Funeral service 11 AM, Tuesday, Sept 19 at United Hebrew Brotherhood Cemetery Chapel, 2605 W 70 1/2 St., Richfield and will be streamed (link at Washburn-McReavy.com).
