Doris (Seeboth) Schneider
Schneider, Doris (Seeboth) age 98, of Edina died May 29, 2023. Preceded in death by husband Carl and sister Audrey Laidlaw, Dori is survived by daughters, Heidi Schneider (Joel Mintzer), Kate Schneider, and Maria Schneider (Mark Righter); grandsons, Asher Mintzer (Samantha Freeman) and Isaac Mintzer (Lauren Vein); beloved nieces, nephews, foreign exchange son Stefan Mielck, her loving caregivers Esther and Joenita, and special friends at Brookdale Edina, in Windom, and throughout the world. Born in Milwaukee WI on Labor Day in 1924, Dori knew how to fill every day with creativity and lifelong learning. A Marquette University graduate, Dori was an executive secretary in Milwaukee before marrying E. Carl Schneider in 1954. She joined him to live in Windom MN, where she quickly adapted to rural life and forged lifelong friendships. She had a keen interest in nature, rescuing orphaned and injured animals ranging from squirrels to geese. Her quick wit won her many friends, and her organizational skills made her a valued volunteer. Dori served on the board of directors of the American Lung Association for twenty years. She was a director of the Association of Marquette University Women; served on the Windom Library Board; worked as a tireless fundraiser for a foreign exchange student program; taught at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church; and volunteered at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. She helped to establish the Busy Bee Nursery School in Windom. Donations may be made to the Cottonwood County Historical Society (firstname.lastname@example.org) or BARC (email@example.com). A private memorial service is being planned.
