Harry Nelson Peacock

Peacock, Harry Nelson was born on Thanksgiving Day November 25, 1937, and died on May 27, 2023, due to complications of progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), a Parkinson's-like disease. Harry was a lifelong resident of South Minneapolis. He graduated from Washburn High School in 1956 and from Mankato State in 1963. He worked in accounting for Lockheed Martin for nearly 40 years through the defense giant's many changes and stages (Remington Rand, Univac, Sperry Univac, Sperry, Unisys, Piramax, Loreal, and, finally, Lockheed Martin). Harry enjoyed golfing, playing softball, and bowling. He also enjoyed vacationing in Arizona and listening to jazz. He was a lifelong Vikings season ticket holder going back to the days when the Vikings played outdoors at Metropolitan Stadium, frequently in freezing rain and snow. Harry was a devoted caregiver to his parents, Paul and Jeanette and his special needs brother, Douglas. He is survived by brothers, Douglas and Keith, and sister Judith. A funeral service will be held on Thursday June 15 at Diamond Lake Lutheran Church (5760 Portland Avenue South) at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour before the service.
