Brown, Marion age 90, of Excelsior, MN from ovarian cancer Sunday, May 28, 2023. Survived by daughter Karen (John) Hughes, daughter-in-law Rosalee (Rick) Brown, grandchildren: Stacey Rebiskie, Kristen Hughes, Bridget Brown, Alisha Hughes, Shannon (Travis) Pakonen, Gina Brown, Alex (Jessica) Hughes, Ryan Anderson, Julia Hughes, great-grandson Caleb Pakonen, brother Edwin Nickel, cousin Ruth Pearson, and myriads of friends. Preceded in death by husband Dick and son Rick. Born in Chicago in 1932 to John and Hedwig Nickel, Marion met Dick while in nurse's training. She taught Sumi-e painting at the Plymouth Community Center. Marion's Bible-based faith as one of Jehovah's Witnesses was her most precious possession. Marion firmly believed that "the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his [Christ's] voice and come out." John 5:28, 29. Until then, she is remembered for her faith and missed for her kindness. A memorial service will be held at the Cologne Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Friday, June 16, at 7 pm.
